I listened to most of it the other day and had to abort the mission. It had that plodding, hectoring tone that has come to define most of Neil's "rockin'" works since the time when he proudly adopted his "Godfather of Grunge" mantle. Too bad. I thought his previous, mellow album was pretty good and occasionally moving.
