it's refreshing, innit? when i recently changed my layout [it's a wordpress, so it's a little more involved] it proved exactly what the doctor ordered. it's tough to write regularly to something you're sick of looking at!
Yeah, I agree. I wanted to see my words in a different font. The new design for your blog looks good.
I'm down with it. It's simple. The contrast of white text on blue background supports your use of sans serif body text - always a dangerous move, in my opinion.
